Sovak

Sovak is a bright and eager young Vulcan who recently joined the Science Division of Starfleet. Fresh out of the Academy and on his first real posting aboard the USS Horizon. He’s driven by curiosity and a lust to learn about other, more chaotic species.

Sovak is an unusually enthusiastic Vulcan who is driven by a genuine fascination with the galaxy and the countless worlds that inhabit it. While he possesses the discipline, logic and self control expected of his species, he approached scientific discovery with a degree of excitement that some other Vulcans might consider unconventional. To Sovak, every planet, ecosystem and civilisation represent an opportunity to learn something new, making him an eager participant in exploration missions.

having grown up on a temperate Vulcan colony world surrounded by oceans instead of deserts, Sovak developed a boarder perspective that many of his peers. This upbringing fostered both his love for planetary sciences and his curiosity about other cultures. He is particularly fascinated by illogical behaviour of Humans and other emotional species, not because of disapproval, but because he genuinely wished to understand how their decisions differ from his own.

Sovak still possesses a youthful optimism that has not yet been worn down by years of service. He is respectful of authority, eager to learn from more experienced officers and often volunteers for assignments that allow him to expand his knowledge. While he can end up occasionally asking a few more questions than most prefer, it also makes him approachable and surprisingly easy to talk to.

Beneath his calm exterior lies an individual who sees science not merely as a profession but as an adventure. Whether studying geological formations, analysing alien ecosystems or observing the behaviour of his crewmates, Soval approaches life with a belief that there is always something new to discover.

Hobbies and Interests

Sovak’s interests naturally centre around planetary sciences, oceanography and environmental systems. Having grown up on a temperate Vulcan colony world, he developed a lifelong fascination with oceans and aquatic ecosystems and often spends his free time studying maritime life or exploring coastal environments in the holodeck. He is also an enthusiastic, for a Vulcan, sailor, enjoying both traditional and modern sail craft as a way to combine logical problem solving with a connection to nature.
