Summary
Shamsirr is a recent graduate of Starfleet Academy.
He graduated with High Honours and has entered service with the rank Lieutenant(jg).
A recent arrival at this, his first formal
posting, the junior officer feels he has a great deal to prove.
During his Academy stint he was a member of the (in)famous Red section which presented him with numerous opportunities whilst also earning the resentment and rivalry of a fair number of peers.
Appearance
Shamsirr possesses the physical grace of his race. He has dark hair, fair skin and dark eyes.
His excellent physical condition and Betazed talents are a charismatic mix.
The officer wears uniforms well, and shows great care in his personal grooming.
Personality
This Betazoid officer is uncharacteristically serious and driven in his demeanour.
Hr affects a distant manner which can be interpreted as arrogance- though it is more of a technique to guard him ftom the emotional intensity of others, and perhapd to safeguard himself and others from forming inappropriately close bonds such as those ‘normal’ within Betazed culture but ill suited to Starfleet service.
Shamsirr is one of the unusual Betazed to feel a calling toward military and exploratory pursuits which sets him somewhat apart from his own race.
History
Shamsirr was born to Betazoid parents working on Earth.
He grew up experiencing both cultures, encouraged by his parents, though his psychic talents were at times problematic- such as his using them to manipulate humans or for unfair advantage in study and games.
His parents schooled him in ethics, morality and self discipline – Shamsirr grew to develop a reserved, controlled manner.
He was drawn to philosophy, in particular the balance between the thinker and warrior archetypes.
He applied for Starfleet to his parents mild disapproval.
He balanced his studies carefully and graduated with the potential to specialise in a number of directions. He is well suited to the role of a Line officer, adaptable and resourceful. He is likewise well trained in survival and orienteering.
Currently he is considering applying to Starfleet Medical Academy to further study to become a medical doctor.
