Appearance
Nira is 5’7″ with a lean, athletic build typical of someone who keeps to a strict daily routine. Her chestnut hair is usually tied back in a low braid, keeping her ridged temples and copper-toned skin visible beneath the bridge lights. Her hazel eyes are sharp yet calm.
Personality
Disciplined, intuitive, and quietly assertive, Nira approaches starship operations with clinical precision. She rarely raises her voice, but when she speaks, everybody listens.

History
Born in Dahkur Province shortly after the Cardassian withdrawal, Nira Jalen grew up amid reconstruction and renewal. Her mother served in the Bajoran Militia, while her father was a civilian communications technician who taught her the beauty of precision and patience in machinery.
She entered Starfleet Academy in 2389, majoring in Operations Management and Systems Engineering. Her early career postings aboard the USS Merrimac and USS Carthage allowed her to build a reputation for efficiency and calm leadership.
She was assigned to Valor as Operations Officer in October 2402.
