Summary
Lieutenant Commander Ren Elaris, Starfleet, is the newly assigned Operations Officer aboard the USS Ulysses. A systems integration expert with a background in fleet logistics and mission scheduling, Elaris replaced Commander Zachary Brooks following his promotion to Executive Officer. His telepathic insight, understated demeanor, and commitment to seamless functionality make him a stabilizing force aboard Ulysses.
Appearance
Elaris, standing at 5’11”, is lean and graceful in his movements. He keeps his dark brown hair swept back neatly, with faint streaks of gray at the temples despite his relatively young age. He is soft spoken, but confident, with a lilting accent from Betazed’s western highlands.
Personality
Elaris is deeply introspective, precise, and empathetic—hallmarks of his Betazoid heritage. He is less brash than his predecessor, preferring subtle influence over confrontation. History
Ren Elaris graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2388 and received his advanced certification in Systems Control and Sensor Integration at Daystrom Annex two years later.
Following Operation Iron Veil, Elaris was handpicked for transfer to the Ulysses by Fleet Captain MacLeod—citing his precision under pressure and deep experience managing fleet-level traffic control during combat and relief operations. He arrived quietly and without fanfare aboard Ulysses from Deep Space Eleven, but his ability to handle complex operational tasks has already earned the respect of the crew.
