Soren Talaas

Lt. (JG) Talaas is a recently promoted Science officer and zoologist forming part of Starbase Bravo’s crew. Her unusual appearance for a Caitian has caused for the individual to become standoffish and somewhat dry with her words. She doesn’t tend to show much emotion outwardly.

There is a large language barrier standing in her way, which she has been attempting to overcome, the temporary solution becoming a translation device, with the hopes of one day becoming fluent in several other languages.

Soren  can be considered a reserved individual who does not enjoy social interactions much, and can be certainly awkward when spoken to. Most of the time she will come off as monotonous with her speech, which is broken due to the lack of understanding from human languages such as English.

She happens to be slightly more trusting with higher ranked officers or familiar faces which the individual has known for some time. It’s easier for her to open up this way due to the fear for rejection and unwanted attention. Although earning her trust can be considered a difficult task granted her fight for survival as a young kit during the occupation of Betazed. Being the only individual of her kind to be seen living upon the planet’s surface.

As an assistant zoologist within Starbase Bravo, the young Caitian has been considered a good team player despite of her distant nature. Willing to listen and learn from other individuals originating from different planets and cultures.
