USS Helios

Shards of Obsidian

Dispatched to keep the flag flying in the neutral Thomar Expanse, Helios stuggles against painful shards of the past, both political and personal.

Mission Description

Their first mission as part of Task force 47, Helios has been dispatched to the lonely colony of the Llanidos system. Beneath Bryntail base the valuable ore veins have begun to run dry and with resources limited, Starfleet Command is withdrawing its assets for more resource-rich locations. A Federation friendly colony at the edge of the Rolor Nebula, it’s a useful stopping point near the mysterious territories of the Breen and the Tzenkethi, as well as a neutral point between Cardassian and Federation space. Starfleet is eager to stay in the colonies good books, both politically and strategically and Helios has been sent to secure their continued good will, whilst simultaneously ensuring important assets are safely removed. All the while, the memories of dark deeds on all sides still cut deep, painful as obsidian blades.

Office Politics (pt. 1)

USS Helios: Shards of Obsidian

Talerak Krall shuffled the padds on his desk into two ordered piles for the fifth time in as many minutes, his nervous energy guiding his calloused fingers to organise them arbitrarily into comfortingly equal stacks. He cast his eyes to the clock hanging above the tall oak doors, it’s long hands [...]

New Suns (pt. 0.5)

USS Helios: Shards of Obsidian

The viewing gallery was mostly empty, a not unexpected state given it was deep within the base’s gamma shift. Normally filled with chatter and bustle, it was a popular site for meeting and lunch dates due to the stunning views afforded by the transparent wall that looked out onto the internal [...]
