“Trust arrives on foot, and leaves are horseback.”

Commerce thrives, diplomacy flourishes, and travelers from across the sector have come to see the station as the safest crossroads in the area. But trust is far easier to destroy than it is earned. When a series of unrelated incidents begins to undermine public confidence in the station’s leadership, Fleet Captain Shaw launches several investigations, each uncovering only part of the mystery.

Missing cargo, political unrest, increased criminal activity, and misinformation all point in different directions until the crew lean that every crisis has been engineered to accomplish the same goal. Convince the sector that Deep Space 12’s leadership can no longer be trusted.

As every department races to find the truth, Shaw discovers that the biggest threat isn’t an enemy or weapons. It’s the loss of faith in everything he’s built.
