Only weeks after assuming command, Fleet Captain Shaw and his staff face their first major diplomatic event as Deep Space 12 hosts a prestigious technology symposium. Scientists, doctors, engineers, corporate executives, and representatives from across the Federation and the surrounding frontier arrive on the station, turning DS12 into a showcase for the latest advances in science and technology.

However, hidden among the scientists, technicians, and corporate representatives is an organized group of black marketeers. Their target remains unknown, and every attempt to uncover their plan seems to reveal another layer of deception. As the symposium reaches its climax, the Division must determine what the criminals are really after.
