Part of Bravo Fleet: Crossroads

USS Victory

The Good Place

Sent to recover a displaced scientist from a reality kinder than their own, Captain Odysseus Hardy instead finds the brother the Dominion War took from him

Mission Description

USS Victory enters a near-prime reality to recover Dr Imogen Burton, a displaced Federation scientist who has no intention of leaving a life where she is celebrated, fulfilled, and in love. For Captain Odysseus Hardy, the mission becomes far more dangerous when he finds the local Starfleet commander is his brother William — killed in the prime universe during the Dominion War, but alive here, older, and part of a world that has been just kind enough to give them both what they lost.

Good Place: The Scientist

USS Victory: The Good Place

The colony was called Immaculate Luck, a novel choice that felt, to Hardy, more like a nickname brought about because of a joke rather than a small Federation colony. It occupied a mid-sized asteroid that had been hollowed, pressurised, and landscaped over several decades. The population stood at [...]

Good Place: Family Dinner

USS Victory: The Good Place

The Asteria was not what Hardy had expected. He had known, in the abstract, that William commanded a Prometheus class vessel. The Victory’s computer had integrated seamlessly with the Starfleet network of this universe, with a little careful firewalling from Velkar. He had read the broad outlines [...]
