Task Force 93 – Report #5

September 29, 2024

Since our last report back in July and the completion of The Labyrinth Fleet Action, some exciting changes have occurred over the previous few months.

Task Force Updates

There have been some changes with the Task Force Senior Staff. Fleet Captain Brodie Lewis, or as others know him as Darth on Discord, has stepped down as Task Force 93’s Executive Officer. We want to thank him for his time assisting members of Task Force 93 and wish him luck in his new position in OCS. I want to welcome Lieutenant Commander Octavian Jackson, or as others know him, Nitus, who transferred from Task Force 17 to become 93’s new Executive Officer.

With the prestige system released right before the Fleet Action, and now we have the new cross-command writing that the Engineering department released, things are looking up for how everyone writes stories from their squadron. Also, now that you can write with other commands within the fleet, things are continuing to grow, which is exciting. If you haven’t seen that announcement, you can check it out here

Now, Task Force 93 has Task Unit Assets that everyone in the Task Force can use in their stories if they need assistance with their missions. If you are unsure how to use these assets within your story, you can check out the guidance guide, which gives excellent information on using assets. While Starbase 93 is the TFHQ and the USS Verity is the Flagship of the Task Force, the following is a list of other assets listed below:

  • Starbase 142, a Presidium-class station, serves as an acute care hospital and humanitarian logistics depot.
  • USS Apache, a Cheyenne-class fast cruiser, serves as a rapid response vessel.
  • USS Mercy, an Olympic-class research cruiser, serves as a hospital ship.
  • USS Cunningham, a Gagarin-class heavy escort, serves as an escort ship and a patrol vessel.
  • USS Charleston, an Echelon-class light cruiser, serves as a rapid response and logistics support vessel.
  • USS Tiro, a Reliant-class frigate, serves as a patrol, logistics support, and exploratory vessel.

In other news, Task Group Commanding Officers have returned. If you want to see how things are done at the Task Force Senior Staff level, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me, and we can discuss this further.

Fiction Updates

  • USS Redding: The USS Redding was on its way to the al-Trimaltan Asteroid Field when they were suddenly sucked into underspace. There, they seemed trapped in a pocket, and their attempts to escape didn’t work. They end up finding unexpected allies where they had formed an improbable collaboration to find an escape from underspace. Ultimately, they rescue seventeen Romulans, returning them to the Romulan Republic, but not before they run into a fleet of Klingon ships.
  • USS Tianwen: The USS Tianwen is transporting an injured Captain to Starbase 93. While en route, they are tasked with deploying probes to study some underspace apertures near their location.
  • USS Merced: The USS Merced had been tasked with returning to Dalab to help solidify relationships between the Federation and the Dalabians during their second contact opportunity.
