OCS Update – March 2025

March 23, 2025

Greetings Bravo Fleet!

Just a quick announcement from the Office of the Chief of Staff to update you all on a few things.

OCS Policy

Bravo Fleet has come a long way since April 2020. With that in mind, Vince asked me to conduct a review of OCS policy to make sure it reflected the current realities of life in Bravo Fleet. The result is an updated policy which will take us forward into the next few years. The updates include:

  • Updated references to the Magistrates Office to Office of the Judge Advocate General – an overdue update to reflect a change made back in 2022;
  • Enshrining in policy that transfer pauses will begin 7 days before the start date of a Fleet Action and that the Chief of Staff can ‘turn off’ transfers to a particular task, for example when a new Task Force is opened;
  • Updated language on AWOL transfers to better reflect the updated process beginning with BFMS v3.3;
  • Added language that competitions proposals should be submitted to OCS at least 48 hours before the intended start of the competition, and that competitions open at 00:00 UTC on the start date;
  • Added language that competitions will be paused for a period of up to two weeks before the start of a Fleet Action.

You can access the OCS policy on the wiki HERE.

Transfer Pause

As you will have seen from Cath’s recent announcement, the new Fleet Action, Nightfall, begins on April 4th, 2025. In light of this, and in accordance with OCS policy, we will be pausing all transfers between Task Forces beginning at 00:00UTC on March 29, 2025. This pause will last until all competition medals and challenge coins have been awarded following the end of the Fleet Action.

I wish you all a fun and successful Fleet Action.
