Logistics Office Report #6 – Reminders, Policy Updates, New Deputy & Recruiting New Staff!

May 25, 2025

Hello Bravo Fleet!

A big well done to everyone for their fantastic effort in our recent Fleet Action. Seeing everyone’s involvement in our latest event has been such a delight. With its completion, this means one thing for you – lots of prestige from your activity involvement (including any awards and promotions you earn)!!! Many of you have already started considering what is next on your wish list from the Fleet Marketplace – make sure you choose wisely. Below are some updates that will hopefully help everyone enjoy our prestige service.

Reminders

We have recently had a few members misunderstand some of our processes regarding command purchases, so hopefully, the information below will clarify them for everyone.

  1. If you’re considering changing one of your current commands, please remember:
    1. The ‘Change Class’ button in the Fleet Marketplace means precisely that – you will request to change the class of your ship and keep the name. The LO Policy states:

A member may change the class of a registry item by paying the full cost of the new class, with no refund for the current class, subject to the approval of both the Intelligence Officer and the Logistics Officer.

    2. The ‘Replace’ button in the Fleet Marketplace will let you trade/swap your current command for another ship (new name and new class). The LO Policy states:

When a member trades one command for another, it is treated as one transaction, with the difference in cost between the return of the original item and the cost of the new item being the price of that transaction or the amount of the refund.

    3. The ‘Refund’ button in the Fleet Marketplace sends your command back to the command registry, ready for another member to use. You will get 75% of the cost back to your ledger. The LO Policy states:

Registry items may be sold back to the registry for a refund of 75% of the asset’s purchase cost, other than a member’s initial California-class ship acquired as a midshipman, which is returned for no refund.

Civilian shipssome of you have recently purchased civilian vessels to enjoy. Please remember that these must be part of your independent operations and not part of any division/squadron, as per the LO Policy.

Finally, do remember that you do not only have to purchase ships or stations in the Fleet Marketplace. You can buy Portrait Frames, and if you are a Commodore or above, you can purchase additional Flag Officer slots. If you do not fancy buying anything else, then do save your prestige as you never know what is just around the corner from your lovely Logistics Office…

Policy Updates

These are not significant updates, but they do expand a bit more on what we can offer our members in regards to stations.

The Logistics and Intelligence Offices are happy to share that if members are interested in buying a station, non-custom ones will be available in the command registry. This means members do not have to always propose a custom station (unless you really want to, then do not panic, as this service is still available) and can choose from those on our list. Furthermore, we have also expanded the ‘Cooldown Period for Services’ element too – this now also includes that members can request/purchase one custom station in a 12-month period. We have revised the Logistics Office Policy to incorporate these updates. The Policy can be found here.

New Deputy

I am pleased to welcome Rear Admiral Alexandra Sudari-Kravchik (aka McGig) back to the Logistics Office as our Deputy Logistics Officer. We have some exciting projects on the horizon for the Logistics Office, and I am really pleased he can join me to help with their development and support our members in getting their purchase requests processed quickly. It really does help that we are both in two very different time zones, too!

Recruiting New Staff!

We are looking to expand our team just a bit further. The Logistic Office may not always be busy processing purchases every day, but our team must check in on BFMS daily, just in case someone has placed an order. Our busiest times often happen following events when members are eager to spend their hard-earned prestige. Additionally, the work involves more than just processing members’ requests. When new classes come along, it is down to the LO team to discuss and decide on the cost of that item. We also generate ideas on how else we can provide a wide market for our members to spend their prestige on (e.g., portrait frames, flag officer slots, etc.). There is plenty to do if you have the time to commit. We promise you will be given full training on how to use the system, too.

So, if you are interested in such a role, please apply today. Experience in confidently using BFMS and reading/understanding policy is essential, and if you have any talents that can help the team further, like graphics, this is desirable (especially as we would like to add more portrait frames to our collection and who knows what else to the fleet marketplace). You have until Saturday, 7th June 2025, to get your applications in.

Thanks everyone!
