It’s been over a week since our relaunch of Bravo Fleet, and we’re really excited to see this fresh flurry of activity. But we know that there’s a lot to take on board. We’ve made a lot of changes to the system and to the website, and we want to make sure everyone has the guidance they need. This article explains how players can go about reporting and recording their activity.
Progress in Bravo Fleet by gaining ranks and awards comes down to activity. There are a lot of activities in Bravo Fleets, from personal writing, to simming, to gaming. To make things simpler for Task Force Senior Staff so they don’t have to watch everyone’s disparate Nova sites or forum threads, a lot of a member’s activity is self-reported on the BFMS. That way, it can be quicker and easier for you to receive medals, ribbons, and promotions! Please only record activity from after the relaunch on 25/04/2020.
To do this, please log in to your Dashboard on the BFMS. Under the ‘Welcome to BFMS’ tab you should see the option ‘Manage Member Profile’.
(Your dashboard will not look 100% like mine. This button will be in the same place, however!)
This will take you to a window where you can edit details like your Primary Character and information on your ship, if you have one. If you scroll down, you will see a section for Member History and, at the top, Activity Monitoring.
This is where you input your activity. For each separate fiction, sim, or competition, add a separate activity. For instance:
For simming, every time you make a post, report it on your activity monitoring. The easiest way to do this will be by putting a dated link to the post in the relevant activity window.
Fictions are much the same, except you should include a wordcount. If you are writing on a medium which allows you to link individual updates, such as Nova, please include a link as well.
When an Activity has been rewarded – when you have received the Service Ribbons or Legions of Honour for the words or posts – the TFSS will edit the entry to add ‘AWARDED’ next to it. You can then delete that entry from the window at any time to reduce clutter.
Competitions need to be recorded as activity to count towards medals and promotions. As per above, the best way is to simply add another window for activity, list and date the competitions in which you participated, and don’t forget to mention if you placed! It should look something like the below:
Please note that you still have to actually participate in the competitions through the Competition Submissions section!
And that should be that! As ever, talk to your TFSS if you feel there are mistakes or activity not being rewarded, but otherwise so long as you keep your own records up to date, the TFSS and the Office of the Chief of Staff should do the rest.
Good luck, happy writing, and enjoy the Activity Awards!
