Crossroads Phase 1 Fiction Update

April 20, 2026

402,000 words. 253 Stories.

That’s what the first phase of Crossroads has brought us. This Fleet Action’s writing is off to a rollicking start and I’m absolutely delighted. From starships in the Prime Universe seeking the Displaced living among us to adventures into alternate realities and timeline both vividly different and unsettlingly close to our own, Crossroads has served up some absolute treats for readers.

But that’s a lot of stories, huh? Highly impractical for one person to keep track of absolutely everything, right? As such, the Intelligence Office will continue to collate member-submitted summaries, releasing them every phase. That way you can stay on top of any story and jump in even partway through!

So let’s get to business.

Phase 1

Bravo Fleet Senior Staff

Canopus Squadron

While in transit to the Breen border, USS Canopus disappears right out from under her solitary escort. With revelations made by command, USS Atlantis is tasked with transitting the multiversal portal at Starbase 80 in order to assist Canopus in returning to the prime universe. Meanwhile, Canopus finds itself not in a reality they comprehend to start, but a subspace layer, thought to have slipped into via a quantum fissure. Making efforts to leave, Canopus finds itself once more in a normal, baryonic state of reality, but in some other universe and face to face with the Jump Ship Canopean Dream.

USS Endeavour

Endeavour is sent to Boreth with the surface mission of giving legal support to Starfleet Commander Cortez, on trial for murder. Beneath that is a harder assignment: confirm whether Chancellor Toral, the leader of the Klingon Empire, is who he says he is – or if he has been replaced by a doppelganger from another reality. Both missions meet rapid resistance, with Endeavour’s old enemy, Lord Torkath, turning Cortez’s trial into political theatre. Meanwhile, investigations of Toral are stonewalled – as are Science Officer Commander Airex’s studies of the time crystals of Boreth itself, which he suspects may lie at the heart of the entire Displacement.

Odyssey Squadron

The sudden arrival of three unidentified Starfleet ships in close proximity to the Odyssey Squadron in the Delta Quadrants presents a possible alternative future for some of the younger crewmembers. However, after watching the destruction of future version of the USS Orion by Captain Alfie McCallister-Reyas-Hart (also from an alternative future quantum reality), Commodore McCallister and the squadron must decide on what to do – help future Alfie return to his own reality or stop him destroying the Borg Collective with Omega-particle warheads?

Polaris Squadron

While conducting a routine survey, the USS Juno and the RRW Decius slip through the boundary between realities, finding themselves in an alternate universe, one almost identical to their own except for one key detail. While the crews work together to study this reality and find a way home, the commander of the RRW Decius debates other options, drawn to what this new universe has to offer. Meanwhile, back in the prime universe, the USS Procyon is on the hunt for a killer who has stayed one step ahead of them the entire time. After their suspect slips the net, they trace him to Archanis Station, but they arrive too late, and there’s already another body dead on the deck. Now the hunt is on to find the killer, but what awaits them is something none of them are quite ready for.

Task Force 17

USS Crazy Horse

The USS Crazy Horse has pushed into the “Gilded” alternative universe where the Borg have established a perfect utopia that is led by peace. As far as the crew found out they have successfully assimilated the Federation. They traveled to this reality to retrieve their abducted crewmembers only to find out that they are at a heavy fortified server farm at Trill and a signal boasting heavy defended Earth. Will the crew be able to safe them or be corrected to this new reality.

USS Horizon

Rebecca Thorne woke on the deck of a warship wearing the rank and life of someone she had never been. Trapped in a brutal alternate reality where the Dominion War never ended, she pretended to be a hardened first officer while every instinct in her screamed that she didn’t belong. The crew of the Horizon raced to find their missing crewmate and others lost while navigating a universe shaped by war.

Task Force 21

USS Shadow

The USS Shadow has traveled into an alternate universe to recover the displaced USS Cobb, only to find a reality that is stable, organized, and profoundly unlike its own. Upon arrival, the crew is forced into cautious contact with a Federation whose language, medicine, and social assumptions all suggest a society built on integration, regulation, and an unsettling absence of visible friction. Beneath the surface, they begin to uncover evidence that this universe’s social harmony may be sustained not only by ideology, but by the quiet normalcy of assistive cognitive implants woven into everyday life.

USS Unification

After coming in contact with what seems to be the USS Voyager, the crew of the Unification very quickly learn they aren’t anywhere close to what they originally thought, and have found themselves in what can only be an alternate universe. Even worse? Something’s wrong with the Unification herself…

Zephyr Squadron

The freshman academy class at Montana Station goes missing, along with the USS Mackenzie and USS Perseverance.  The USS Denver and USS Buran are dispatched to the alternate universe where The Traveler indicates they went.  The cadets find themselves in 2295 in an empty universe that’s been wiped out by V’ger and the Borg.  Meanwhile, the USS Zephyr and USS Olympic begin the investigation at the sites of the vanishings.

Task Force 47

Starbase 11

Starbase 11 is abruptly displaced from its orbit around M-11 into an unknown and isolated region of space, cutting it off from the Federation and forcing the crew to confront both the immediate crisis and the broader implications of their situation. It is later discovered that their displacement wasn’t simply spatial, but temporal, and they are somehow confined within a 1000km barrier that only light seems to penetrate. After several days of experimentation, the crew manages to breach the barrier, only for a mysterious figure of unknown origin to appear and cripple multiple systems aboard. They are told by the intruder that they are being contained, and any further attempts at escape will be thwarted proactively.

USS Brawley

The Brawley while under mission to respond to a distress call has lost three of its senior officers and roughly 50 of its crew without explanation. As the ship reels from the realisation of the missing crew. Strange occurrences begin happening throughout the ship. Phantom visions of different places and times.

USS Dragon

A shuttle carrying a new Chief of Security and various other crewmen send out a distress signal. When the USS Dragon arrives, they find the new Security Chief is in a state of medical distress, and the entirety of the rest of the crew are displaced with marauders who attempt to destroy their shuttlecraft than be captured by Starfleet. To make matters worse, it’s discovered that the officer in a coma, a Joined Trill from their universe, is now host to a displaced symbiote, making the mission to return the displaced individuals back to their own universe far more complicated.

Lakota Squadron

Waking up in a distressing alternate reality where, apparently, the Dominion War rages and the Federation is on the brink of defeat, Fleet Captain Keziah Nazir is forced to take on the responsibilities of her younger self aboard the USS Solaria. During the First Battle of Chin’toka, it becomes clear that her history, as well as that of the Federation, is in peril. Meanwhile, in the original timeline, the USS Lakota arrives at Starbase 80 to take on a new mystery, unawares that their friend and former captain is missing.

USS Santa Fe

After Commanders Steiner and Song disappear from the bridge of Santa Fe, Kurino rallies the rest of Lexington Squadron’s escorts to find them. Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where the Dominion War has not ended, Steiner and Song- now father and adopted daughter- struggle to navigate their own tense relationship, fix USS Crockett, and try to figure out what’s real and what’s not… or what’s the right timeline, and what’s not.

Typhon Squadron

Typhon’s stoic flight commander has been displaced into a dark reflection of the universe, one where the Dominion has become a plague of religious zealots. Unfortunately, intelligence is thin and Typhon is too far away from Starbase 80 to mount a rescue. The aged USS Ascension and her escort USS Edinburgh, however, are nearby and the unlikely pair are called upon to rescue Commander Krim. With the visage of the Jem’Hadar once again on the horizon, the officers of Typhon squad find themselves facing ghosts they had desperately tried to forget.

Task Force 72

USS Phoenix

After conducting a close up scientific survey of a brand new supernova, Captain Skyrunner and four other crew members got ‘displaced’ into an alternate universe. Once in the Alternate Universe, they witnessed a Ferengi ragtag ship get captured by an unknown alien ship. Then the runabout itself got captured and Captain Skyrunner and his surgery team are now subjects to upcoming torture by a brutal, vicious dominant power in the Alternate Universe named Requiem Imperium. Meanwhile, on the USS Phoenix, Captain Sophia Rodriguez, now the acting Commanding Officer, has discovered a mystery…her husband, and the survey team, are doppelgangers from an alternate universe. On top of that, Sophia must deal with the emotional storm from just finding out she is six weeks pregnant and her husband is missing. The icing on this complex crisis cake is the potential threat from the Loom.

USS Thunderchild

The USS Thunderchild was at Ajilon Prime when a sudden rip in reality caused the IKS T’Ong and multiple officers from the USS Oberon and RRW Alidar to vanish without trace or sensor signature. The displaced awoke in an alternate universe where the Dominion had won the war, with Bajor serving as a major Dominion labor hub. Captain Day and Ensign Renn found themselves in command roles at a Bajoran labor camp holding familiar officers prisoner, while the T’Ong emerged in a devastated Morska system and allied with a rogue Jem’Hadar-Klingon resistance cell, and Commander Talisa’s team crew a Dominion-auxiliary Romulan vessel transporting critical cargo to Nemus Station. The fractured squadron now races against time to understand what happened and find a path home before this shattered timeline claims them permanently.

USS Appalachia and RRW Kormoran

Upon learning that the transport Goldfinch had been Displaced, USS Appalachia and RRW Kormoran sailed from Starbase 86 to search for her.  A brief stop-over at Starbase 80 provided additional information, and a new ally in the form of IKS Slivin.  Together, the three ships departed for their target timeline by way of the rift near the starbase.  Upon arriving, a search of the area uncovered an incredibly faint ion trail leading towards a planetary system several lightyears away.  The three ships set off along the trail, racing against time in their search of the missing ship.

USS Grus

The USS Grus became linked with another version of itself within a parallel reality.  Ensign Chad Harris inadvertently crossed through the portal linking the vessels via the Holo-suite.  There he has encountered other versions of the crew, including himself; however a number of historical events have helped shape a very different Federation, now badly affected by the Vaadwaur invasion.  With an unidentified hostile force taking control of Lieutenant Lyambo from that reality and  Lieutenant Devron in an attempt to find out what’s happening, has also ventured into the other through the portal.  The link has now severed.

USS Sovereign

The Sovereign crew were enjoying the down time while the Captain and First Officer try to find a mission that would not be too light or too stressful. At the same time, Grak was having a teaching moment with K’Roll, until both Grak and Henry Maxwell disappeared. This has thrown the ship into chaos and the crew now tries to figure out where they went. Meanwhile, Maxwell found himself in a ruined city, only to find a historical building that essentially tells him where he is at and also explains just how bad his situation currently is.

Task Force 93

USS Gilroy

The Gilroy is tasked with crossing over to the Trust Profile reality – a timeline where Augmented humans conquered Earth – to rescue the USS Tiro. Dampening powers to the point of running cold, the Gilroy slowly and stealthily makes her way across hostile space in a bid to rescue her fellow Starfleet vessel. All while the ripples cause several crew to question their choices or worry about potential ‘what ifs’.

USS Foxglove

After the disappearance of their First Officer, Commander Alvarez, USS Foxglove was sent through the rift near Starbase 80 and emerged in an alternate reality where the Borg successfully assimilated Earth in 2063 before First Contact could occur. Traveling to Montana, the crew discovered the ruined Phoenix launch site and evidence that humanity had survived in hidden resistance cells scattered across the planet. Following signs left behind by Alvarez, the away team uncovered a settlement beneath the mountains and learned that their missing commander had been stranded in this reality for nearly ten years.

USS Fresno

Captain Dart, haunted by nightmares of last year’s Vaadwaur attack, awakens in a fractured alternate reality where he had a marriage and child with Commander Thalissa Zheen and died during this conflict.  He is coming to terms with this reality, and questioning whether everything he thinks he knows is true holds up to what he’s found here.  Meanwhile in the prime universe, the USS Fresno has been working alongside the USS Valley Forge for the past year to consolidate remote Federation frontier worlds that have struggled to survive ever since the events of Nightfall.  Tensions mount as the realization Captain Dart is missing from the Fresno is weighed against a brewing volatile situation involving the colonist passengers aboard the Valley Forge.
