Hello all! Recently, Fleet Captain Tavek (Starbuck) tendered his resignation as Bravo Fleet Security Officer. I want to personally and publicly thank Starbuck for his extremely impactful 8 months of service as Security Officer. It cannot be understated how much Starbuck transformed the position and the Security Office during his tenure.
This brings us to filling the position of Security Officer. It isn’t very often that a Bravo Fleet Senior Staff spot has come open for applications. In fact, the last time the Security Officer position was open was the first time in three years that a BFSS position was open for applications!
I will be opening up applications for the next Bravo Fleet Security Officer. Below are some things we are looking for in the next Bravo Fleet Security Officer, in no certain order. Also, remember this is not an exhaustive list but just a bird’s eye view of the position and what you can expect. Your application should include more information on strengths you feel you would bring to the table and be transparent about weaknesses that you may need help with (this is not a negative nor detrimental to your application). Your application should be well thought out and show that you understand the facets of the position you are applying for:
- Preferably someone who is an active gamer. This is not a hard requirement, but a preference. The Security Officer is primarily tasked with the management and administration of gaming within Bravo Fleet. That means that if you are someone who isn’t a gamer but can efficiently put together and maintain a staff that handles the gaming side of things and you are a superb administrator for them, you may also be an ideal candidate;
- Someone who can interface and work well with the BFSS and Bravo Fleet Command in the development and implementation of ideas and proposals as well as routine planning of events like Fleet Actions;
- Someone who is ambitious to grow and cultivate the gaming culture within Bravo Fleet, including having a finger on the pulse of what the gaming needs and desires are within the organization;
- Someone who is available to process gaming submissions within 48 hours of their submission by members;
- Someone with experience in live-streaming to do so personally or set up for gamers on behalf of Bravo Fleet;
- Someone who is willing to continue and expand on the strides that the Security Office has made over the past year;
- Someone with experience hosting online events, such as gaming nights; and
- Someone who has the ability to run or help organize gaming nights often to make these available to membership who wish to participate and to generate activity.
If you feel that you are interested in the position, feel free to apply here. Applications will remain open until the end of the day, server time, on October 27th.
