[Phase 1]: Incoming Transmission

Description

You have received an emergency transmission from Earth that is heavily encrypted. After providing your command codes, the computer presents you with the last obstacle to decoding the message: a simple cipher. Using your cryptography skills, decrypt the message.

Criteria

  • Only complete and accurate decryptions will be eligible to place in this competition.
  • It is not necessary to provide the full cipher; just translate the message.
  • Eligible entries will be placed based on the time at which they were submitted.
  • You may not use outside assistance, such as a cryptogram solver.

Last Crypto I did was easy, but for some reason this one really racked my brain. I immediately figured that the last word was either ZONE or ZERO and since there is no word that starts with DO and ends with ROD for the 8 letter word that starts with D and ends with D, I went with ZERO and for some reason still couldn't figure it out until it finally hit me, DECLARED and things started to fall into place. Oh well. There's the picture that shows I decrypted it, but I didn't show the cipher because it was messy.
