A Concordant Dissonance

Description

Musica Universalis proposes that there is an inaudible symphony of the heavens, that celestial bodies move through space with a grandeur of melody and harmony witnessed not with our ears, but with our souls.

As we adventure into a new frontier, and are greeted by a new movement in our collective celestial symphony, we would like to know one thing. What does the Shackleton Expanse sound like to you?

Remember, not all music needs to be gentle and harmonious, the staccato pitter patter of asteroids against the deflector or the fortissimo eruption of a supernova are all equally glorious celestial music.

For this competition we would like you to show us one piece of audio that reflects what you and your characters experience in the new frontier. Alongside this we would like a short (100 word max) summary of how this reflects your characters and their experiences, at any stage of their mission into the shroud less Expanse.

Remember, the focus is on the feeling in their souls, rather than the activities of their hands.

Criteria

  • Submissions should take the form of a maximum 100 word summary entered directly into the BFMS competition page. Google Docs will be used to measure word counts and the URL link will not be counted amongst this.
  • Entries should include a freely accessible URL link to your musical media for example Spotify or Youtube.
  • The winning design will be selected based on three criteria: written quality of summary (out of 10), originality (out of 10), and adherence to the theme (out of 10).
