First Contact Reactions

Imagine you are on the bridge of your first assignment, the USS Akagi, a brand new Constitution-III class starship. It was sent on its first five-year deep space exploration mission within the Gamma Quadrant. After several weeks at high warp, it has eventually arrived at its destination – an inhabitable star system filled with a space-faring civilisation. In front of you, as you sit on the bridge, you come across this scene. While the senior staff routinely scan the area, you and your fellow junior officers start to message each other with your thoughts and reactions to what lies ahead of you.

Using this generator, create a series of text messages between you and your fellow junior comrades. Share your reactions, thoughts, fears and even humour about the start of this mission.

Criteria

• Entries should feature the image that the ifaketextmessage platform creates.
• Entries will be graded out of 10 on the:
  1) level of creativity to describe the reaction/thoughts,
  2) use of Humour or Drama,
  3) use of Star Trek canon,
  4) overall effectiveness in making the conversation between characters appear 'real'.
  
• The entry that scores the highest will be the winner.
