Shore Leave
Description
Background: With crews from all over 4th Fleet reeling from the tumultuous events of the Labyrinth and its aftermath, it’s only natural that Starfleet Captains and their crews might be looking forward to some well – deserved R&R. Players are challenged to write a story that involves their character(s) taking a period of Shore Leave. We know how you face danger, now show us how you face a vacation!
Mission:
- The player / command vessel has granted a short period of Rest & Recuperation (R&R) from active duty.
- The R&R can be spent aboard ship (using the facilities aboard), aboard a Starbase or Station or another locale like a planet or other ship.
- The player is invited to write a short story (between 1,000 – 2,500 Words) detailing how their character and/or members of their command choose to spend their shore leave.
Hints:
- What type of vacation would your character take to decompress from the pressures of command or service? What is in keeping with their character?
- Would your character take the leave alone, or do they have a friend, crewmate, significant other or family member that they would take with them?
- Will the events of your story be humorous, dramatic, or mundane? Or will events that transpire on your vacation herald a more complex development that ties to other events currently happening in your mission or story arc?
