[LAB Phase 2]: 8-bit Starship Creator

Now that Bravo Fleet has commenced the mapping of Underspace, absolutely every corner of the galaxy has been opened up for exploration. Starships face a whole bevy of new challenges, based in astrogation, structural integrity or facing antagonists halfway through a subspace corridor. Your challenge is to propose a new class of Starfleet starship that’s specially-designed for navigating Underspace. Create a proposal with an initial sketch of the starship design to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Criteria

• Submit a pixilart screenshot or PNG file featuring an image of your Starfleet starship design. Also submit a written rationale providing the name of your starship class and explaining your starship design in less than 500 words. Both the image and the description will be considered in the scoring.
• Entries will be judged using the following rubric: 5 points for preservation of Starfleet’s traditional design aesthetic, 5 points for Underspace-inspired innovations, 5 points for achieving detail in an 8-bit render, 5 points for aesthetic proportions between the hulls and nacelles, and 5 points for composition and layout.
