Training Day

Description

  • Background: The Hazardous Situation Response Team (Hazard Team) is a specialized mission unit designed to handle extreme, physically dangerous situations both aboard Federation starships, and on specialized away missions. First developed from the bitter lessons wrought by the Dominion War to provide a shipboard tactical response, the Hazard Team doctrine brings together Starfleet Officers, NCOs and Ratings – drawing on their diverse skillsets in Command, Security, Engineering, Science and Medical – to enable starship COs to be able to respond to challenges beyond the limitations of their standard crew compliment.

Hazard Team – Bravo Fleet

Mission:

  • The player has been nominated by their Commanding Officer to participate in a H.S.R.T. selection exercise on the Holodeck.
  • The training is led by the Tactical Training Hologram (TTH) – based upon the infamous 23rd Century Starfleet Security Master – Chief Petty Officer Isagi Saroga. A bald headed, barrel chested, walrus-mustached Nipponese NCO from a far – less gentle era of Federation History, Master Chief Saroga is a hard taskmaster with a wry sense of humor.
  • The player is invited to write a short story (between 1,000 – 2,500 Words) detailing how their Hazard Team selection, under the TTH, progresses.

Hints:

  • Starfleet is not a paramilitary or military organization, but sometimes the United Federation of Planets has to resort to a more martial response to address certain situations. Think about how your character feels about being asked to participate in this type of training? Does it create internal conflicts with their sense of right and wrong?
  • The Hazard Team doctrine emphasizes teamwork & creativity between its members. What other NPCs might your character be training with? Will your character learn anything new or surprising about themselves through participating in the exercise?
  • The Hazard Team selection exercise is being conducted in a Holodeck environment. Players are encouraged to be as creative as they wish in deciding what action unfolds.
  • In Japanese the name Isagi has the following connotations the Player may wish to explore when developing the TTH character ☆ Isagi (潔) = pure hearted / uprightness || Yo • ichi (世• 一) = world • one. interestingly, Isagi’s kana is written as ‘いさぎよい ち’ which means sportsmanlike.
