To be a member of one of the Great Houses of the Klingon Empire is to belong to one of the dominant families of the Empire’s feudalistic leadership. The twenty-four seats on the Klingon High Council are occupied by the most powerful Great Houses, led by the Chancellor. Recent events have seen some Great Houses fall from power, like the Mo’Kai, while others have been on the ascendancy, like the House of Duras led by the new Chancellor, Toral. As sure as day following night, Great Houses will rise and fall with the deeds, or misdeeds, of their warriors.
