The USS Proteus, an Echelon-class light cruiser, stands as a beacon of resilience and dedication under the command of Captain Elias Draeven, a veteran of some 12 years in the command chair. Commissioned in 2398, this versatile starship replaces the Paulson as part of Task Force 47’s Lakota Squadron. Based out of Deep Space 47 near the enigmatic Thomar Expanse, Proteus is equipped for a variety of crucial missions, including rapid response operations, engineering support, and humanitarian aid.

Following the tragic Frontier Day massacre, which claimed the lives of many of her seasoned crew members, Proteus is now largely manned by young and eager personnel determined to honour their predecessors’ legacy. As the most experienced member of her crew, Draeven must temper their impulses and focus them on becoming a mission critical asset for Commodore Jaro.
