USS Ambassador

Ambassador-class • NCC-10521 • Eos Frontier Squadron • Task Force 93

“It’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” ~Abraham Lincoln

Commissioned in 2329, the USS Ambassador was originally built for deep-space exploration and high-profile diplomatic missions, serving as one of Starfleet’s premier capital ships. Over the decades, as newer classes like the Galaxy and Sovereign entered service, the Ambassador was gradually reassigned to secondary roles, eventually being drydocked in the late 2390s. Awaiting extensive repairs and refits that were repeatedly delayed due to shifting priorities, the Ambassador was reassigned to Starfleet Auxiliary.

Following the devastating events of Frontier Day in 2401 and the renewed need for capable starships, the decision was made to fast-track the Ambassador’s return to active duty. In 2402, she was pulled from drydock and underwent a rapid refit to update her systems while retaining her impressive diplomatic and humanitarian capabilities. Now serving the Eos Frontier Squadron, the aging vessel is once again ready for duty, proving that even older ships can still play a crucial role.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Operating from Eos Station (DS108), a revitalized Watchtower-Class starbase, the Eos Frontier Squadron serves as Starfleet’s presence in the rugged and politically unstable Alpha Doradus system. Situated near volatile regions such as Freecloud and the T’Met sector, the squadron contends with Romulan factions, opportunistic pirates, and thriving smuggling operations. However, a new threat has emerged—the Phoenix Consortium. Though their former leader, Ambrose Nichols, has been eliminated, the organization remains a major force in the region, using their vast network of mercenaries, smugglers, and former Starfleet defectors to challenge Federation authority.

Composed of aging, battle-tested vessels with storied pasts, the squadron embodies Starfleet’s resilience and resourcefulness. Led by Fleet Captain Elena Mitchell, the Eos Frontier Squadron proves that even Starfleet’s forgotten relics can rise to meet the galaxy’s greatest challenges.
