Danielle Arias

Early Life → 2366 ∼ 2385

Danielle had a hard life growing up as a Betazoid, as she found it harder than other kids growing up to control her feelings and take on the feelings of her peers. Her peers would pick on her and try to get her in trouble by pushing bad feelings of hate onto her, which for a while worked until she managed to overcome them. She decided as a way of learning to control her feelings, she would take on looking after plants and try herself as a botanist. Once she learned to control, she went to medical school on Betazed, but this was a lot tougher than she thought it would be. At first, she was ok, but as she started to get field assignments and deal with cadets and officers who had serious injuries, she started to struggle to deal with not taking their pain on as well. But she came up with a way of dealing and that’s helping the person with their pain by helping push the pain to a side and bringing up a happy memory, this helped the patient and helped with whatever their injury was, especially when they were running low or had no meds to give the patient.

STARFLEET ACADEMY → 2385 ∼ 2389

When she came to the academy, she was ready for it emotionally and mentally able to control her Betazoid side and not get affected by the emotions of the other cadets or even injured people. She quickly rose to the top of her class and became well known for her ability to help her patients when they were seriously hurt. She received the nickname of the ‘patient whisper’. She didn’t mind the nickname, and it generally stuck with her through the academy.

USS Alamo NCC-86406 → 2389 ∼ 2401

Being posted to the ALAMO, She was pleased that she was able to do some good and learn to hone her abilities more when treating seriously injured patients. Over her 12 years on board, she continued her love of plants and growing them and when she had a few days to herself she took her time in the holodeck living out her hobbies from old earth horror movies and books. She used to take some of her fellow crew members in with her. Some used to love the experience, but others didn’t. One of her crew members got her to try a slightly different type of horror. He got her to migrate the horror into old earth sci-fi horror. She didn’t mind it and used to try it with him from time to time, but she preferred the old classic horror. While stationed here, she had her fair few serious casualties because of the kind of missions her ship was assigned and a few deaths, but nothing that she was not able to deal with.

Ensign/Physician → 2389 ∼ 2392

Danielle’s first assignment on board the ALAMO was as a physician. Her duties were not that very exciting at first, as she didn’t get to do a lot of on-the-front-line medical life-saving procedures. The reason is she was always posted to the graveyard shift when hardly anything ever happened apart from the few minor accidents when that were either crew getting hurt from the holodeck because they had turned off the safety features or otherwise a work-related accident mainly from the crew in the engineering department when they were performing maintenance.

Lt Junior Grade/Staff Physician → 2392 ∼ 2396

When 2392 came, Danielle was finally able to get off the night shit as she needed more through the days. Being promoted to a staff physician meant she got more responsibilities. She loved this as it meant that she also got to see more action and perform more complex procedures and got to do more of her hobbies with her friends, because being on the night shift she hardly ever got to see them unless she had a day off and they were on a break while on shift. She loved being able to have friends over to the Holodeck and be able to watch movies again or even play through a Holodeck horror program.

Lieutenant/Attending Physician → 2396 ∼ 2401

By the time 2396 came, Danielle was looking for more of a challenge and took up the position of Attending Physician when she was promoted to Lieutenant as she felt with being promoted should also come new responsibilities and new challenges. By this time she had started to take on more responsibility in the aeroponics lab set up in one of the cargo bays and put her green thumb to good use and not only grow plants but also grow fresh produce so the ship’s cook could have a different variety of stuff to cook when either having special guests on board or when the crew wanted something that was not produced in the replicator. But also for her benefit, as she likes to get into the ship’s kitchen and cook meals from scratch for herself from time to time.

USS Gilroy NCC-12110 → 2401

Shortly after the disruption by the Borg, their attack disrupted Frontier Day, and with the loss of so many ships. The USS Gilroy was brought back into service to help with resupply missions and then into service of doing second contact. She welcomed the change of pace when she got the assignment on board the Gilroy. She’s currently on her homeworld waiting for the USS Gilroy to pick her up en route to the Delta Quadrant, she hoping that because this ship is only a supply and occasionally second contact ship; she has a slower pace of life and a slightly easier assignment than the last one.
