Born on the serene planet of Betazed on August 7th, 2358, Selene Arden’s destiny was seemingly entwined with the cosmos from her very first breath. Growing up on her homeworld, she was surrounded by the natural beauty and telepathic culture that Betazoids were known for. Her early years were marked by an insatiable curiosity, a trait that would shape her path in the years to come.

Academic Life

Starfleet Academy (2377 – 2381)

Enrolling at Starfleet Academy at the age of 19, Selene embarked on a journey that would propel her beyond the confines of her own world. The Pursuit of A Ph.D.  (2381 – 2383)

Selene’s path to expand and share her knowledge was impressive she worked on the development of advanced sensor arrays at the Daystrom Institute, and her insights into subspace anomalies were crucial in optimizing long-range sensor arrays on the USS Newton.

The completion of her Ph.D. marked a pivotal moment in Selene’s journey. With the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, she stood on the precipice of her career, armed with knowledge and enthusiasm. The previous Commander, Anthony Witherfield, had seen the station as a dead end, and his neglect led to a deteriorating environment. Selene’s passion clashed with his indifference, and the friction between them was palpable. Despite the adversity, Selene’s resolve remained unbroken. She fought tirelessly to salvage the station, striving to preserve the integrity of the research being conducted.

Amidst the challenges, Selene found a steadfast friend in Dr. Suvak. Their shared dedication to their work and the pursuit of knowledge forged a bond that transcended their differences. Together, they navigated the complexities of Tharsis Research Station, finding solace and understanding in each other’s company.

A New CO & The Demise Of Tharsis

The turning point in Selene’s journey came with the arrival of Commander Silas Crowe. His leadership breathed new life into Tharsis, and his dedication revitalized the station’s purpose. Selene found herself working alongside a commander who truly valued her contributions and recognized the importance of their mission. The experience of the Tharsis Research Station, marked by struggle and triumph, shaped Selene into a resilient and resourceful officer.

As the station’s fate hung in the balance, Selene witnessed the depth of Captain Crowe’s commitment. Despite his best efforts, the station couldn’t be saved from its impending doom. Selene admired Crowe’s casual yet effective approach to leadership, as he guided the crew through challenging times with a mixture of determination and compassion.

The tragic destruction of the station marked a pivotal moment for Selene. She saw in Captain Crowe a leader who was willing to make difficult decisions for the greater good. New Comission: USS Blythe (2401)

In 2401, as a seasoned scientist with a distinguished record, Lieutenant Commander Selene Arden received a transfer order that would see her stepping aboard the USS Blythe.
