Summary

Savar has dedicated his life to Starfleet and the Federation, and has worked tirelessly to prove himself a dedicated and committed officer. He has extensive tactical and martial arts training, spending most of his life in the tactical and security departments before moving into his newest command position. But he is also probably the most atypical Vulcan you will ever meet, openly preferred the company of his peers over typical Vulcan isolation, and even befriending an Andorian, an action many of his Vulcan peers and family members still don’t understand. He is fair, loyal, a natural leader, and the most dependable person you could ever have at your side.

Weight: 196 lbs, 89 kgs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Hazel

Physical Description

Savar is lean, though broad through the shoulders. He is not particularly physically imposing to look at, however he is very toned through his chest and arms, possessing above average strength when compared to others of his species. He sports the usual Vulcan hair style, and has beautiful hazel eyes. Like most Vulcans, he keeps everything about his appearance as minimal as possible, choosing to go with what is logical over what is preferred. You will rarely find him taking any liberties to change his appearance or style.

Personality

Savar can be described as not your typical Vulcan, though since he has spent most of his life in Starfleet and around many different species and cultures, it is not difficult to guess why. He does not share the same attitude towards other species in the Federation as his Vulcan peers do, and openly preferred the company of others over is own isolation. Even his longest, most trusted friend is an Andorian, a species that the Vulcans shared a violent history with. Though still fully devoted to logic and suppressing his emotions, Savar is the most un-Vulcan Vulcan you will ever come across.

History

Early Life

Savar grew up on Vulcan and, to the surprise and dismay of his parents and extended family members, had elected to join Starfleet over applying for the Vulcan Science Academy. His parents belonged to an elite group of Vulcans who preferred to limit their contact with the more ‘illogical’ species within the Federation, especially the charter members, due to differences in ideologies and behavior. Savar, from the moment he was old enough to realize and comprehend, protested and insisted that all species had their flaws, but also had profound capability and potential to be greater than ‘Vulcan superiority’. This caused a rift in his relationship with his parents and, after he was old enough to apply and leave for Starfleet Academy, it would be several years before they would speak again.

Starfleet Academy

As typical with most Vulcans, Savar did extremely well in the academy, earning perfect or near perfect marks in all of his coursework. He received very high praise from his professors of his grasp and understanding of the subject material, though did point out that he often struggled with choosing a career path to pursue. Savar took many different courses during the academy to expose himself to as many different subjects as possible to see what would peak his interests, but so far he had not found anything that he knew he wanted to make a career out of. It wasn’t until his physical training when he discovered his talent and appreciation for the martial arts, and before too long, he knew that he had found himself a career in security and tactical operations.

Deep Space 7

In his first assignment as a brand new officer, he was assigned as a security officer aboard space station Deep Space 7, a posting where he would end up spending the next twelve years of his career. He was instrumental in numerous security investigations, earning the admiration of the command staff and his department head in particular, and was promoted in 2366 to Lieutenant Junior Grade for his efforts. After also displaying keen tactical knowledge and instincts, he was given a new posting as the assistant tactical officer, before finally being offered his own department on a starship a few years later.

U.S.S. Monitor

After arriving on board the U.S.S. Monitor as the new Chief Tactical Officer, a position that Savar had been working for all of his professional career, he took some time to make some new friends with his new crew. After all, he had been working with the crew of Deep Space 7 for over twelve years, and it was quite an adjustment for such a young officer, especially someone that was just promoted to department head and had never served aboard a starship before. It took a few years, but finally, in 2381, a short while after his promotion to Lieutenant Commander, he met a new Andorian officer who was assigned under his command. At first, he kept their relationship professional, especially since he was the young ensign’s department chief, but he quickly formed a close bond with the Andorian, a friendship that would end up being the most important personal connection to him that would last well into the 25th century.

U.S.S. Konshu & U.S.S. Bonchune

Savar would continue on board the Monitor for several more years, until he finally was requested to transfer to the U.S.S. Konshu by their first officer, the Andorian officer that he had served with previously, Commander Kosev Thiren. Accepting the lateral transfer, he would go on to serve with the crew of the Konshu until Commander Thiren was offered his first command, where again he was requested to join his new ship, the U.S.S. Bonchune. Kosev couldn’t have been happier that Savar accepted, and Savar was gratified to serve with his greatest friend on his first command. The two would go on for several more years together, until finally the Bonchune, after receiving critical damage in a border skirmish with the Breen, was to put in for decommission.

U.S.S. Pioneer

After the Bonchune, Kosev was offered a new command, an Intrepid-class starship called the U.S.S. Pioneer, where he again requested Savar and one other officer accompany him on this new vessel. Launching in February of 2401, the Pioneer has already taken part in the battle with The Lost Fleet, and after receiving critical repairs and another crew rotation, are ready to get underway again to explore.
