She can be described as an introverted, intuitive, feeling and prospecting person that is quiet. Yet she is very open-minded and has a good imaginative view of the situation. Her caring and creative approach is her strong point in diplomatic operations.
History
In 2401, Lieutenant Palema was a fundamental piece of the puzzle that Mariner played in the critical mission in the Gamma Quadrant. She was given access early on to the real goal of the mission and was able to read-in on the Dominion. This helped her make negotiations go smoother and assist Captain Kobahl in the talks with the Dominion. She remained after the Lost Fleet arc with the Mariner as an advisor and diplomat.
