Summary

After returning from a successful mission in the Delta Quadrant in the midst of the Blood Dilithium Crisis, the Corax has been recalled to Starbase 93 under priority order for resupply and a crew transfer as they respond to a formal request for assistance from the worlds among the old Romulan Neutral Zone and Independent Romulan Worlds to help with a sudden outbreak of Terrellian Plague. While en-route to the Proteus System, Aris found himself and his senior crew reassigned to the Parliament Class USS Auckland to greater assist the colony they are ordered to protect.

Appearance

Aris stands at 180cm with a slim build weighing in at 80kg. He has short black hair with length on the top and light brown eyes. He has the distinctive markings noting him as a member of the Trill species. He wears his starfleet uniform with pride but dresses for comfort when not on duty

Personality

Aris can appear to be introverted to those he doesn’t know but once he is comfortable it’s almost impossible to put him back in his shell. Due to the transient nature of his parents work assignments, Aris found it difficult making friends and acquaintances but never let that dissuade him from trying to forge friendships. Aris self-identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community but has not found the right opportune times to explore this side of him. The trill people did not bat an eyelid as the symbionts did not conform to any known gender binary and only relationships between former hosts are looked at with disdain.

History

Early Life (2376-2394)

Born in the Gheryzan Province on Trill in 2376, Aris spent his formative years growing up near the industrial sector of Tycho City so his parents could raise a family away from thef mass riots and civil unrest that erupted that year following an attempted terror plot.

Dividing his time between schooling and assisting his parents repairing and analyzing the federation technology used to keep Tycho City functioning. It was during these times that Aris developed a passion for engineering and fabrication. He was always a tinkerer at heart.

However, as with most passions, there is a risk factor involved. It was during a routine maintenance job, a malfunctioning atmospheric control console he was attempting to repair shorted out and exploded resulting in Aris losing his left eye. After several months of pain, discomfort and treatment Aris received an implant to regain the use of his left eye.

Due to limited time for social activities, Aris kept up his social circle small relying on only a handful of others for companionship. However these friendships often didn’t last as people came and went

As he grew older and started to reflect on his future, he noticed his peers were content to remain on Luna. Not Aris however. He wanted to see the galaxy and learn more about the universe he was born in to.

With his mind made up, Aris’ parents petitioned the Starfleet Embassy in Tycho City to consider Aris for the Starfleet Entrance Exam. Aris had found his calling and was granted entrance to Starfleet Academy at the conclusion of the Exams.

Trill Symbiosis Commission (2394-2396)

Aris had his admittance to the academy postponed for a few years when a freighter limped in to port after a brief skirmish with pirates with an injured Trill crew member aboard. With time being an unknown factor and rapidly running out, Aris offered himself as a host to save the Suin symbiotes life

With the guidance and support of the Trill Symbiosis Commission, an emergency joining was undertaken to save the life of the symbiote thus Aris became the second host to the Suin symbiote, whom he affectionately refers to as “little one”, delaying his admittance to the academy as he acclimated to joined life on his homeworld.

Unfortunately due to the emergency nature of the joining, the Symbiosis Commission was able to offer counseling and reading material and the Initiate Commission was able able to offer a pared down overview of his new life playing host to Suin opposed to the years long initiate process.

Starfleet Academy (2396-2400)

The dawn of 2396 meant Aris was able to realise his dream of finally entering Starfleet Academy. With his passion for tinkering and the education he received assisting his parents, Aris enrolled in the Engineering career path with a minor in Fabrication. With the Trill species being primarily Science focused, Aris’ chosen career path went against the grain of what could be considered standard, however in his mind Engineering and Science were two disciplines that relied on eachother. His first year in the academy consisted of Warp Theory, Quantum Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering and Structural Engineering as core subjects.

The four years spent at the Academy really built into the foundational knowledge Aris had accumulated on the Luna colonies. Learning how different systems interacted and behaved depending on where they were deployed. Planetary systems were both similar and vastly different to systems in use on starships and space stations.

When the opportunity for placements arose, Aris was intent on applying for an engineering role on Starbase Bravo due to the long list of maintenance and upgrades needed. This would also introduce him to life on a Starfleet station. A life he was eager to take part in

USS Corax (2400 – 2401)

Blood Dilithium Campaign

As the Blood Dilithium phenomena engulfed the Delta Quadrant, Aris was granted a provisional promotion to Lieutenant Commander and placed in command of the Raven-class corvette the USS Corax as part of Task Force 93 to provide humanitarian aid, diplomatic assistance and if necessary a shield to protect the vulnerable throughout the Alpha and Delta quadrants. Determined to make both his parents and his instructors proud, Aris threw himself into the challenge with the same passion he discovered when first entering robotics.

While in the Delta Quadrant, the crew of the Corax completed a successful supply mission to a colony of displaced citizens following the annexation of their homeworld. Although delayed somewhat after coming under the effects of an entity known as the Telepathic Pitcher Plant, the mission was a complete success complete with a passenger needing to get home.

USS Auckland (2401 – Present)

The Terrellian Plague

Upon their return to Federation space, the Corax was recalled to Starbase 93 under priority order for resupply and a crew transfer as they were ordered to respond to a formal request for assistance from the worlds among the old Romulan Neutral Zone and Independent Romulan Worlds. An outbreak of Terrellian Plague has erupted in several systems with the fledgling societies at great risk of succumbing to a preventable illness. While en-route to the Proteus System, the Corax was contacted by Starfleet to advise they were being transferred to a new vessel, the Parliament Class USS Auckland. With a larger and significantly more powerful vessel at their disposal, Aris found himself promoted to Commander before resuming the journey to Proto II
