Summary
Kossaal is known to be a caring person. He does what he can within his range of skills. He will always stand ready to serve, but has some difficulty dealing with mental health issues as he sometimes takes it personally or keeps thinking about it.
Appearance
Kossaal is 1.72 meters and weights 81 kg. His hair and beard are both the same color, white. He has light blue eyes and there are no visible scars present on his body.
Personality
Kossaal can be seen as an extroverted person that is keen in observant, showing empathy and yet judging in his traits. He is known to be very attentive and people-focused and enjoys participating in social community events. While he wishes to guide those that need it, he does show problems with dealing with mental health problems and tries to avoid the topic. His strength is solid practical skills in medicine, a sense of duty to his ship’s crew, very loyal to his Captain, and quite sensitive and warm in conversations. He is main weakness, reluctant to innovate or improvise and stick with the rules. He is known to be vulnerable to criticism and sometimes too selfless.
History
Not born on the Andorian homeworld, but on Earth, Kossaal has been in a caring and traditional Starfleet family. His father was stationed at Starbase 001, and his mother was stationed at Starfleet Academy as one of its instructors. He was taught to stay loyal, be caring, and embrace those who require help that no one else could give. He thought his father was rather strict about his lifestyle.
In 2390, he became a cadet in Starfleet Academy, primarily focusing on medicine and xenobiology. After the academy, he got assigned to USS Hunter as their Medical Officer. He made it up to Assistant Chief Medical Officer for quite some good years. Eventually, he got supported to become the new Chief Medical Officer of the USS Damascus and later got transferred to the USS Mariner for his noble actions at the Blood Dilithium operations in Delta Quadrant. In the BDO he was known for his continued work of keeping the crew alive and healthy while the ship faced the Blood Crystalline Entity and the Devore Imperium. His expertise was needed in the brain function of Captain Praugol extreme exposure to the Blood Dilithium.
In the Lost Fleet arc, he was more noticeable in the skirmish of Ciatar Nebula and the Battle of Farpoint.
