Gabriel Drake

Gabriel Drake is the seasoned commander of Horizon Squadron, a formation of Starfleet vessels dedicated to preserving exploration beyond the Federation’s well-charted frontiers. Descended from generations of Earth’s seafarers, Drake sees the stars as the natural continuation of the oceans his ancestors once crossed. A veteran of a long and distinguished Starfleet career, he combines a navigator’s instinct, a historian’s respect for those who came before and an explorer’s determination to push beyond the known.

Gabriel Drake possesses the rare ability to make even the most ambitious undertaking feel achievable. While many senior officers lead through force of personality or strict authority, Drake leads through conviction. He had an explorer’s soul and a belief that there is always something else past the horizon that’s worth discovering. Crews under him often find themselves attempting things they’d have previously thought impossible.

Drake is generally comfortable with uncertainty, years spend at the edge of known space have taught him that not every question has an immediate answer. he trusts experience, instinct and the judgement of his officers.

Beneath this seasoned explorer is a deeper reflective man with a profound respect for history. he views exploration as a part of humanity stretching back through centuries of explorers, sailors, navigators and adventurers. He is keenly aware that one day he will too become a part of history. Though, he has little interest in personal glory, what matters to him is leaving the galaxy slightly better mapped, better understood and ensuring the next generation has horizon’s to pursue.
