Xonak

Xonak was a typical Vulcan.  He donned the blue shirt as had his predecessors.  It was expected that he would advance and find himself as the Chief Medical Officer of a vessel sooner than later.  He had expected to stay on board the Excelsior for several more years as the assistant chief medical officer.  However, Starfleet had needs and the USS Sheffield needed a chief medical officer.  His name was instantly bounced around and submitted for the position.  Xonak was not surprised when he received the call that he was immediately transferred to the USS Sheffield.  He was the logical choice.
