Artemis Zephyr

Artemis was born in 2373 on Earth. All she really ever wanted to do was fly. Because flying took an athletic body, she ran track in school and also at Starfleet Academy.  She knew that the best way to have a flying career was to go to Starfleet Academy, so it was a foregone conclusion she would attend, and because of her competitiveness, she had no doubts that she would be accepted.  Her first posting out of the Academy was to the USS Wasp, a Defiant class starship.  She spent most of her tour at the controls as the relief flight control officer.  She liked the handling of the Wasp, but contrary to what she thought would be a first tour filled with glory, the Wasp was a ship built for war after all, they mostly did escort duty. It turned out to be more of keeping up with civilian vessels rather than fighting battles.  When the opportunity on the USS Sheffield came around, she jumped on it.
