Summary
Commander Ramza El Hanif is presently assigned to USS Jemison, serving in a dual role as both the ship’s executive officer and chief science officer. As Jemison has just completed her shakedown and with no commanding officer yet assigned, Commander El Hanif is presently the ship’s acting captain.
Appearance
Ramza El Hanif stands around 6’02” tall, with hazel eyes and dark hair. When in public and in uniform, she usually wears a simple black hijab over her hair. A woman of athletic – some might say Amazonian – stature, when seen out of uniform some might mistake her for a security officer, but the perpetual curiosity in her eyes betrays the truth: while certainly physically capable, her greatest asset is her mind.
Personality
Commander El Hanif is highly intelligent, and is often found working on some puzzle or other; sometimes those puzzles are scientific, though she is also a fan of sudoku as a way to keep her mind sharp. Fully qualified for command, when the need arises she usually commands from her station instead of the center seat; some assume this to be superstition – an assumption she does not bother to correct – but in truth she simply feels that she can do more from her console. She tends to keep her personal life private, but does open up the more one gets to know her. As a hobby, she enjoys cooking, a lesson learned from her father, who often cooked for the family while her mother was at work.
