Full Name

Kravgh

Kravgh, son of Suqpek, of the House of V’ghal, is the captain of the IKS Hegh’ta.  He found himself holding this most tenuous of stations following the Vaadwaur attack on the galaxy at large.  Formerly the commander of an outpost along the Federation-Klingon border belonging to House V’ghal, he was stripped of this responsibility after discovering the beleaguered survivors of a fallen Federation colony raiding one of their storehouses for food and medical supplies.  The curtains of the Vaadwaur blackout effect rarely respected political borders, and these poor souls had found themselves trapped within the very same isolated bubble of space as he.

These colonists had initially approached him begging for his help, and knowing his house would never approve this Kravgh had been forced to turn them away.  But rather than punish the following heist borne of wretched desperation, Kravgh took pity on the colonists and admired their courageous act.  There was honor in risking his wrath for the survival of their small, ragtag group of families.  The grizzled Klingon warrior chose a path that he felt he could use to justify an act of pity.  He challenged their leader to either present their best warrior, or to step up and respond to the call himself.  Nothing from the House of V’ghal would be freely given out of mere generosity.  But if it were a price exacted in blood, be it his or one of theirs in honorable combat, then regardless of the outcome these survivors would be provided for until the Vaadwaur could be pushed back and the curtain containing this area of space be lifted.  It was a wild gambit that strained the limits of justification, but he would be honor-bound to comply with the terms once they were offered.

These survivors were refugees, not warriors.  To Kravgh’s admiration, their leader volunteered to face the challenge himself.  He fought well for one who was not versed in the ways of combat.  But the fight was an easy one, and the colonist leader fell quickly.  The remaining Federation survivors were allowed to stay until the Vaadwaur were pushed back from the region and the curtain was lifted.  In the aftermath, it was decided that the House of V’ghal had little choice but to honor Kravgh’s proposition and let these events stand.  But if Kravgh was so concerned with the fate of Federation citizens, then he would be consigned to their aid.  A decision was made that was two parts an informal punishment to Kravgh’s choice, and would also serve the additional benefit of allowing the House of V’ghal to thumb their nose at Chancellor Toral.

So it came to be that Kravgh, son of Suqpek, would command the only House of V’ghal asset loaned out to the Federation in a token overture of cooperation during this time of mutual need while the galaxy rebuilt its self in the aftermath of the Vaadwaur.
