Summary

Lt. Commander Jordan Adrain was an Earth Native from Houston, Texas. He served in Starfleet from 2380 to 2392 before being reassigned in an undercover capacity to the Artifact Borg Reclamation Project. Three years in, Jordan was assimilated during a security breach in the Gray Zone and was presumed ‘killed’ when the area he was in was vented to space. His body was recovered and placed in quarantine stasis. His body was once again jettisoned into space before the incident at Coppelius. He was recovered by responding Starfleet vessels, and it was found that he could be reactivated. Following a recovery period, Jordan, now Three of Fourteen, returned to serving Starfleet, given that he had no Family to return to.

Appearance

Pi appears to be a standard Human Male in his mid-30s, preserved from when he was assimilated. There are faint traces of black along his blood vessels, but through standard treatments, his pale skin pigment has returned to mostly normal. He has short, trimmed brown hair and green eyes, with a Borg prosthetic over his left orbital bone. Pi usually wears black gloves over his hands and always wears long sleeves, even in the heat. Externally, his body is covered in scars, from the hasty Borg implants that were installed, along with the cybernetics installed by Starfleet to recover him.

Personality

Pi is a very private person, even more so since his assimilation. He is fully aware of the stigma of being an Xb and goes out of his way to prevent others from having to endure his presence. He is a workaholic and tries to pour every ounce of energy into work and maintaining a professional presence akin to a Vulcan, hoping that will allow others to see past the implants. Deep down, he is a very passionate person and longs for companionship, and will often do things for others without them knowing, to help brighten their day. Yet he is still a very proud individual, and shuns people away when he feels their only being nice to him out of pity.

History

Childhood

Born Jordan Adrian, he grew up in the southern region of Texas to a highly conservative, anti-spacefaring family. But like most controlling environments, it only harbored resentment and rebellion among its youth. Jordan was no exception to this, and he, along with a small group of other youth’s ran away from their family compound to ‘make it’ in the big city. They were eventually caught and sent back home, but the damage had been done. As soon as he turned 16, his father kicked him out of his home to ‘go die in space’ like he dreamed of. Jordan took odd jobs in Austin for a few years, studying and making connections until he was able to apply to Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet Academy

In Starfleet Academy, Jordan wanted to make an impression. The return of the Voyager Crew and tales of their exploits in deep space inspired him to do great, but he struggled to find a ‘major’ or definitive career path. His instructors took his I’m just happy to be here’ attitude as a lack of motivation, which wasn’t truly the case. Finally, he found and settled on two separate majors that would apply to any future career path he might take. He graduated with honors in 2383, but had no family come to support him during graduation.

Starfleet Service

From 2384 to 2387, he served aboard the Prometheus-class USS von Richthofen as both Conn Officer and later Hazard Control Officer and Shift Leader, seeing his promotion from Ensign and Lieutenant Junior Grade. His exploits aboard the starship dealt mostly with patrolling and escorting the Romulan refugees, up until the attacks on Utopia Planitia.

In 2388, he was once again promoted to full Lieutenant and assigned to the newly commissioned Excelsior II-class, U.S.S. Lakota. Where he would serve another 4 years as Ships Quartermaster, and Security Officer. He was promoted once again in 2392 to Lieutenant Commander, following his heroic actions during the events of Operation: Gatecrasher.

The Artifact

In 2393, Lieutenant Commander Adrian was selected to partake in an undercover operation in the Romulan Free State run Borg Reclamation Project. To partake, Jordan had to ‘Unofficially’ resign from Starfleet, and have a whole new identity forged. His initial mission was just to observe and report for a few years, and then he would be rotated out. However, in 2369, while serving in a security capacity, Jordan was assimilated in a ‘Green Light’ event within the Gray Zone of the research station. The reactivated Borg caused such a disturbance that the infected areas had to be flash decompressed, neutralizing the Borg drones and allowing security to reclaim the site. Jordan (or his alias) was reported to the federation to have been killed in action, but his body was to remain on the artifact now that it was infected with Borg technology, until such time he could be evaluated. His family was notified of his death, and caused no fuss about his body being held.

Reinstatement to Starfleet

In 2399, before the events on Coppelius, Jordan’s body was vented into space, along with the other drones that were temporarily reactivated, prior to the Cube’s jump. Left floating in space, several Federation Starships came to render aid, and his body was found, recovered, and positively identified by a hidden subspace tracking device that had been implanted in him at the start of his mission. While being evaluated, it was clear that the Borg technology had slowly repaired the damage to his body while in stasis, but due to his multiple exposures to vacuum conditions, many of his organic components (some organs, eyes, and eardrums) were irreparable. Jordan was once again ‘reactivated’ and revived outside of the collective consciousness.

Dazed and confused, he could only initially remember his prior designation, Three of Fourteen. When asked again who he was, Jordan joked, “I am Pie of Borg”, before having to be shut down due to emotional stress. It took two years of intense therapy and medical intervention to get Jordan back to a somewhat stable resemblance of who he once was. In hopes to reconnect with humanity, doctors tried to once again reach out to his family, and explain his condition, but were met with “We buried our son years ago, that monster isn’t our son”, and “We warned him space would be his doom, now look at him.” Despite the rejection from his family, Jordan still held onto hope for his Starfleet family, but Starfleet Command was still hesitant to re-enlist him.

In 2401, Jordan attended the Frontier Day celebration aboard his former vessel, the USS Lakota-A. After the assimilation of the junior crew, he was field-reinstated by the surviving officers and fought valiantly to defend the unaffected crewmen as well as attempt to restore control of the ship. Due to his action, he was fully reinstated to the Rank of Lieutenant Commander and assigned to a new posting with honors.
