Summary
Lenara Rix is a young, eager officer skilled in the piloting of craft. Her passion with flying began in her mid teens when she was attracted to the thrill of travelling the various racing circuits around Federation space that enthusiasts would visit in order to push small craft to their limits. Not wanting their daughter to engage in such daredevil shenanigans, her parents gave her the push to leverage her interests into a Starfleet career instead. Lena’s primary responsibility aboard the USS Fresno is to steer the ship on its course as they make their way to each assignment. Although she is glad to be the senior helmsman, she much prefers getting into the smaller more nimble shuttles and small support craft parked in the Fresno’s bays and will gladly accept the opportunity when the task arises. Her intention is to use USS Fresno as a stepping stone to hopefully one day transfer to a vessel with more… excitement. But her background in tinkering with small racing craft in order to squeeze out performance is what got her posted to the Fresno, considering the role the ship plays to its current Taskforce.
Appearance
Lenara is a fit, young lady with long black hair tied back that would otherwise frame a dark complexion. A glint in her eye and a bounce to her step further lend to the fact of her youth. Her frame is small and wiry, with slender hands to match that are useful for slipping into tight places with tools.
Personality
Lena is a spirited daredevil who is doing her best to keep those urges in check for the sake of professionalism if she ever wants to be considered for transfer to a ship with more prestige. Her wit is quick, wry, and sarcastic. She can often lack a filter, which again is an urge she battles for the sake of professionalism. She has a decisive drive to pursue what she wants, however. It has led to her getting her way much of the time, and some may perceive her to have a sense of entitlement. Her current resolve aboard USS Fresno is to compartmentalize her professional and personal life if she wants to be taken seriously enough to advance her posting. So she is currently doing her best to keep her rambunctious and exuberant tendencies isolated to her off-duty hours, while appearing to be much more restrained than she truly is when “on the clock”, as it were. So far the efforts have earned her a promotion to Junior Grade Lieutenant, and it will be her personal struggle to keep the momentum of this effort going.
