Summary
Captain Teodor Borodin is the commanding officer of the USS Scylla. A seasoned tactical officer, the Scylla is his second command despite his youth. Borodin rose through the ranks during some of Starfleet’s most turbulent and paranoid times, and is a product of the hawkish post-Mars mentality. He is unwavering in his conviction that the Federation has powerful enemies against which it must be protected, and sees himself and his ship as part of that shield. While he respects the scientific work of the rest of Starfleet, Borodin is prone to assuming both that such officers are sheltered and naive, and simply do not understand that his military work is what allows them to focus on more academic matters. Borodin is a strict disciplinarian who runs a tight ship, and relies heavily on etiquette and formality to give structure to his duty and his personal life. Some have accused him of being joyless, though his sense of humour is, if ever found, bleak and dry. He is, at the least, intensely protective of his crew, and dedicated in fostering a strong esprit de corps, knowing this is essential if the Scylla is to weather the challenges she faces off against.
