Summary
Petty Officer Mike Bannister serves aboard the USS Albion as it’s Armory Officer and also in the capacity of Squad Marksman in the vessel’s Hazardous Situation Response Team. An expert in the maintenance and application of Starfleet Small – arms and the capabilities of opposing – forces man – portable weaponry, this Cincinnati Security Specialist is an expert sharpshooter and provides overwatch for the Hazard Team in the field.
Appearance
In his early 30’s, Mike Bannister stands 6ft tall and has a well – built, athletic frame courtesy of a highly disciplined training regime. Most comfortable in a workshop tinkering with phaser rifles and other weapons – systems or in Starfleet field – BDU’s, Mike cares more about results than appearances.
Personality
One of the most striking things that strikes most people is his palpable sense of calm.
Spare with his movements and considered in his actions, this unflappable Starfleet rifleman operates under fire with barely a rise in his heart – rate and pulse. He is high observant and relies upon insight and instinct – a consummate people – watcher that takes note of even the tiniest personality tic or flaw.
As meticulous in the workshop as he is in the field, Mike Bannister can sometimes seem to have lost interest in a question (making the questioner about to give up) before suddenly replying with some great insight that lets you know that he has just been considering all aspects of your enquiry in – depth.
History
Upon graduating the Service Academy, Crewman Mike Bannister served aboard the Intrepid – class Light Explorer, USS Paladin (NCC – 75447) and went on to serve in the same capacity aboard the Sovereign – class Exploratory Cruiser, USS Missouri (NCC – 81542) after 1 year.
A superb shot with an affinity for technical repair, Mike was promoted to the NCO rank of Petty Officer and began his career as an Armory Officer, honing both his skill as a marksman on the range testing small – arms and finding innovative new ways to improve the performance of those same weapons systems.
More recently, Mike has transferred to the USS Albion (NCC – 89881) and, in addition to his skills as an armorer, he has begun to train as a Weapons Specialist and Sharpshooter with the ships Hazard team.
