Summary
Born and raised on Starbase 72, Katherine Tian calls the Minos Korva System home.
One of the youngest Lieutenants aboard the USS Albion, Lieutenant (Jg) Tian is somewhat a prodigy with an intuitive grasp of computer processing and data distribution and a flair for organizational thinking – so much so that Captain Carrington, upon becoming aware of this promising young officer, poached her away from her post on the Parliament – class Utility Cruiser, USS Victoria (NCC – 80242), much to the chagrin of her CO.
Technically minded, Katherine is one of the few humans aboard that enjoys a rapport with the gnomish Vulcan Chief Engineer, Lieutenant Commander Sonak – the two officers enjoying a meeting of minds and a mutual appreciation for efficiency.
Appearance
Katherine Tian is a young South – Asian woman in her early 20’s, with a slim build – standing only 5ft 6ins tall. She has neatly – bobbed short blonde hair and intelligent hazel eyes.
Lt Tian comports herself with poise and efficiency and is always crisply turned out and alert.
Personality
One of the more junior bridge – officers, Katherine is efficient and focused when on duty, but off duty she is somewhat less confident socially amongst her peers. Serving as a Chief Operations Officer aboard a Captial ship sometimes makes Katherine experience mild ‘imposter – syndrome’ (even though she has squarely landed the position on her own merits) and she tends to be self – depreciating and bookish.
History
Katherine Tian was born on Starbase 72, the daughter of a Starfleet Chief Petty Officer (also serving in Station Operations) and her father is a civilian grade – school teacher aboard the station. Raised to be conscientious and apply herself to her studies, it is perhaps fitting that she attended the Minos Korva campus of Starfleet Academy and herself graduated as an Ensign, in 2397 & was assigned to Operations duty aboard station (thankfully not in command of her mother – who is a Cargo Operations Specialist).
Technically minded, Ensign Tian quickly established herself as a more – that – competent Computer Operations Officer and after a year was accepted for shipboard duty as Assistant Operations Officer aboard the Parliament – class Utility Cruiser, USS Victoria (NCC – 80242). Katherine thrilled to this role, finding the work engaging and meaningful and quickly established herself as a highly efficient officer.
In 2400, she joined the crew of the USS Albion and is one of the youngest bridge officers, serving aboard a ship – of – the – line, in 4th Fleet.
