Summary
Srijan Navathe is a young Flight Control officer that carries himself with a hint of arrogance and is justly proud of his skill as a helmsman and never misses an opportunity to share his brilliance with his fellow crewmembers aboard the USS Albion. This would make him insufferable if not for the veracity of his talent and his otherwise warm and genuine personality.
Srijan delights at being posted aboard such a swift and maneuverable vessel and his passion for flight is only surpassed by his passion for Pakistan’s national sport – Cricket, which most of his crewmates find confusing and impenetrable, but Srijan venerates almost as much as his Islamic upbringing.
Appearance
Srijan Navathe is an Indo – Aryan male in his mid – 20’s with features typical of someone for Punjabi heritage from the subcontinent. 5ft 9inches tall, with a lean build and a bald head, he had quick and mirthful dark – brown eyes and more often – than – not, a slightly wry and sardonic smile upon his lips.
Srijan is relaxed in his posture and tends to a causal attitude toward the uniform code.
Personality
Srijan was raised in a large family in Lahore and to be Pakistani is to embrace a world of hierarchical, local cultural etiquette and traditional Islamic values. Family is important to Srijan, and he learned to establish himself in a rowdy family environment – all social skills that make him adept in co-existing aboard a starship and he views Starfleet and his crewmates as part of that extended family – for all of his vainglorious posturing.
A maverick, but a lovable one at that.
History
Pakastani Srijan Navathe was raised in Lahore as part of a sprawling family and joined Starfleet partly as a way to stand out from his various siblings and cousins.
Aside from a life – long passion for the sport of Cricket, Srijan’s keen eye and deft manual dexterity saw him excel as a helmsman – graduating top of his class and achieving a near perfect score in piloting. Graduating from the Starfleet Academy on Earth, the brash young ensign was assigned to Flight Control aboard the Reliant – class Frigate USS Osiris (NCC – 86401) and for a time appreciated the vessel, but soon started to tire of its performance limitations and put in for a transfer when he attained promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Srijan found the challenge that he was seeking aboard the USS Relentless (NCC – 75660) a tried and tested Defiant – class Escort that really gave the young pilot free – rein to exhibit his flair and skill.
It was this performance that came to the attention of Captain Robert Carrington, who was keeping a weather – eye out for a promising helmsman for his new command, the USS Albion (NCC – 89881) and, for his part, Srijan could not resist the opportunity to take to the controls of one of Starfleet’s newest and most maneuverable ships – of – the – line.
