In the first installment of shakedown cruise. We see Simon getting ready to take the big captain’s chair. He was about to sit down when Samantha chimed in “Captain time to leave I already undocked us after permission granted and I can move me out anytime.” Simon was pleased with Samantha knowing she got permission before undocking. Simon “Next time Samantha let me get permission because we might head into a Star base that doesn’t know why the AI is talking and then we have to explain to others that don’t know about you yet.  To much is at stake for this project to unravel before we even leave the outpost.” Samantha pinged Simon’s chair and agreed. Aurora was just getting to the bridge after her coffee was hot instead of steaming  hot. She got to the bridge as a jolt shook her coffee on her and she screamed. “What the actual FUCK! Was this Sam’s doing?” But she already knew the answer to that.

Below decks another thing shifted to the acceleration with barely enough Impulse going. 10 of 80 hurried put it to 100 percent of power instead of .012 percent where he had it set as with a alarm going off. Of course he thought a fully rebuilt California class still has quirks especially after it was half destroyed during a battle. Then the alarm turned off. During the way out of the outpost space dock, Sam started doing course corrections and asking for “New course Captain.” ” Sam set course for Draken ” . “We will arrive at Darken in 2 hours at our cruising speed.” Simon thought using the new communication system would be a good test to see how the medical doctor is settling in. Simon thought 5 of 80 are you there. 5of 80 immediately  said “yes, captain what is it.” Simon said “Nothing, just checking out our new communication system, make sure to work on our medicial system during the cruise. 5 of 80 understanding he is a android also knowing the command structure said “Good to know sir, but please make sure to use the comms too.”

Naz was working on his station and doing simulations of the ship in battle to make sure they are ready for anything as the ship passed the outpost star yard. During this time a jolt hit the ship and he was knocked out of his seat almost but caught himself on his console. The seat was just a formality in his mind, he could stand all day and his motors wouldn’t care, he usually runs diagnostics at the end of the day anyhow before sleep.

During the commotion of the  jolt when Samantha started the ship the jolt was small but noticeable to 2BB she decided to scan for particles of oxygen in the outpost as they leave. As the ship enters space a new beginning  for the crew happens and the ship has a new lease on life.
