Location: USS Oakland, Mess Hall
Andrea was getting the evening meals prepped she was almost ready when she noticed a man walking into the mess hall. “We’re not open just yet, I need like 30 more minutes and you’re early, whoever you are.” Andrea said with the big smile on her face, and she continued chopping up the vegetables for tonight and putting them on a platter.
“Am Lieutenant Swanson.” He said with a smile. “You can call me Andrew, if you wish. Do you mind if I grab something to drink and keep you company?”
“Well I could use the chatter, I don’t have any drinks pre-made most people just usually order from the replicator so I don’t even bother.” Andrea suggested, noticing in her own personal opinion that most people just replicated their drinks but got fresh food.
“I’ll grab a replicated coffee.” Andrew said and a few moments later he was back. “I would offer to help but I am not even good at boiling water.”
“Well I appreciate the offer but I really don’t need your help, however I don’t mind the company, I could use a little bit of chatter in my life.” Andrea again pointed out to him.
“So how did you get into cooking?” Andrew asked her. “I mean besides the normal we need to eat.”
“Honestly I don’t remember, from young age mom made me cook. And I kept cooking and I continue to cook. Until next thing I know is here I am on a Starship. I knew I didn’t want to go into starfleet, but I didn’t think I’d be working with Starfleet. So it’s funny how the universe works sometimes right. I enjoy cooking don’t get me wrong it’s just I didn’t think I’d be a cook on a Starfleet vessel but here I am and I’m loving it to be honest.” Andrea said that she felt like she rambled on a little bit.
Andrew loved how she just spilled out her history like that. “You are one of the important part of the ship. The crew performs better when they are well fed.”
“I do my best, to provide tasty foods.” Andrea said, thinking on what type of foods to prepare in the coming week. She was a Multi-Tasker.
“Everything you have made so far has been really good!” Andrew said with a smile. “I was hoping one day you would make Chili dogs with cheese.”
“Maybe not for the entire crew but maybe we can do something on a smaller scale and I can make some chili dogs.” Andrea said, thinking to yourself she did not want a mess hole full of chili mess and cheese.
“I would like that.” Andrew replied. “But I don’t want to put you to, too much trouble.”
“It would be no hassle, sometimes it’s nice to have a smaller,’get together.” Andrea suggested to him.
“I will look forward to it then.” Andrew said with a smile.” Now he would really be hungry for chili dogs.
“Well let’s make a date of it, how does Saturday sound?” Andrea asked as the scene starts to fade away.
“I am looking forward to it.” Andrew said with a smile
. He couldn’t wait for Saturday.
