Captain Kirok Skyrunner recording…

The USS Carlsbad is still undergoing repairs from our violent exit from that subspace tunnel when we had to destroy an unusual comet. My Chief Engineer reassures me that all ship repairs will be done within the next six hours, with the help from these exBorg drones, which call themselves the Kyrennei.

I must admit, and I’m sure that every Starfleet officer would agree with me, has a deep down fear of encountering the Borg, whether it is a single drone or a whole Cube. However, I must admit that these former drones are more humanoid than I expected from former drones. I have high hopes that this joint mission can lead into a strong friendship and an alliance. The Federation needs more allies now.

We just found a few survivors from the USS Thunderdragon, including my beloved wife, Captain Sophia Rodriguez. I’m so very grateful that she is still alive. Hopefully she can tell me more on what happened to her ship and maybe, if we are lucky, some good intelligence on how to stop the Vaadwaur threat.

End Log Entry.

Captain Skyrunner just left the conference room where he just met with and agreed to a joint mission operation with former Borg drones, who call themselves the Kyrennei. Kirok was heading to Sickbay to get a report of the survivors and more importantly, his wife. He stepped into the turbolift and the computer asked for his destination.

“Sickbay,” Kirok replied to the computer.

The lift started moving and he knew he had a minute to himself.

“Hold.”

The lift stopped in its tracks. He started to feel, not think, his way through things lately. He let all his pent up emotions flood through. All his bottled up anger threatened to be released due to what he was feeling about what happened to his wife. He knew that she was his world and didn’t know what he would do if he lost her. He let out a loud howling shout, tapping into all that bottled anger and frustration he has had buried deep down over the decades. After he yelled so long and hard, he was forced to stop due to his throat getting sore. He stopped telling and dropped to his knees, sobbing slightly. He felt emotionally drained, but also that a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. After a minute, he regained his composure and stood up. He wiped his eyes on his uniform sleeve, straightened his uniform tunic and told the computer to resume. The turbolift resumed moving, then stopping seconds later. The doors whooshed open, revealing two Ensigns, who were from Engineering, standing by to use the lift. They stood at attention and to the side, making room for the Captain. Captain Skyrunner greeted both Ensigns and asked how they were doing. They both smiled at the Captain, happy that the Captain asked about them.

“We are doing good sir. On our way back to Main Engineering for tools and parts to finish the repairs to the plasma conduits.”

“Very good ladies. I’m impressed with the work all the Engineering staff has been doing. Keep it up. Carry on.”

Captain Skyrunner walked past the happy Ensign’s, who stepped into the open turbolift and headed towards Main Engineering. Kirok walked down the main corridor, seeing the doors to Sickbay in sight. He slowed his pace a little, steeling himself for what was to come.
