Blood dilithium blooms in the wake of a massive subspace phase pulse. Horizon has been tasked with exploring the Gradin Belt in the Delta Quadrant in search of as many new deposits and accompanying anomalies as possible. During their expedition, based on unreliable information, Captain Hess and her crew head into chaotic space where they are led to believe a subspace sinkhole bigger than any previously recorded can be found.

En route, Horizon receives a garbled distress call from a Turei vessel, but as they make their way through the labyrinth of such volatile space, they are surprised by a Hirogen hunting party. Can reinforcements make it to help Horizon or will they be forced deeper into the dangerous void and turned into hunting trophies?
