Just a note to say that we — and by “we” I mean “I” — are rebooting the Phoenix story, so please consider this mission to be a failed pilot episode. It may or may not be deleted from BFMS, but in case it isn’t, I wanted to leave this note here for the one or two of you waiting with baited breath for the next chapter. The next pilot episode will follow roughly the same story, but it will get our heroes into it a tad quicker without too much backstory. I may explore backstory of our characters in a future mission, but for now, I just want to get closer to the action quicker. Thank you, drive thru.

Twenty years ago, the U.S.S. Yorktown upheld the Prime Directive on Mercia VII, defending the planet’s inhabitants from the interference of an interloping Federation academic. All was well until the Federation Science Council lost contact with a duckblind observational station on the planet. The U.S.S. Phoenix and her crew must investigate the mysterious loss of contact and confront a new threat to the Mercian people.
