In the aftermath of the events precipitated by the Labyrinth, the crew of the USS Savannah enjoy the brief respite of Shore – Leave, whilst the fate of the battered but brave New Orleans – class Frigate is decided by Starfleet Command.

For Commander Samantha Hyland it’s a chance to take stock and ponder her future in Starfleet, after being tested in the crucible of Underspace. For Lieutenant Carlito Herrera, it’s a chance to heal the wounds of time and embrace new hope offered by the brilliant nanomedical – pioneer Dr Abaywe Eboneke.

But unbeknownst to all, a fateful secret from Dr Eboneke’s past threatens not only Starbase 72, but the entire Alpha Quadrant as a whole – if the crew of the USS Savannah cannot come together and solve a forgotten riddle that has led dormant for long years within ‘The Artifact’.
