Security Office Report #9 – Re-balance and More!

November 23, 2025

It has been some time since my last official update to you all from the Security Office. Gaming Ribbons continue to fly out of Bolty at an impressive rate. Bolty is most happy when distributing ribbons – so let’s continue to keep them happy… Right?

As usual, here are some statistics on our progress as a team to date this year.

Since January 1, 2025, the Security Office has:

  • Endorsed 64 completed Gaming Events hosted by both Security Office staff and members of Bravo Fleet
  • Security Office staff have hosted 131 off-cycle gaming sessions

That is 195 separate gaming opportunities in which Bravo Fleet members could participate. Hats off to that! I am very proud of our Security Office staff and those members who step up to host events for others. A huge thank you to you all!!

Re-balance of Policies

As stated in the most recent Fleet Command report, staff have been busy digesting and acting on the feedback we received in the recent Bravo Fleet survey, and now in the Security Office we are responding in time with some re-balancing of current supported policies. This is something we routinely do as a team to ensure we are being responsive to gaming trends and properly recognizing time/effort. Some games will see a bit of a buff, and others will see a bit of a nerf.

As always… Balance in the Force must be maintained!

Affected Gaming Policies:

New BFMS Gaming Page

A little late with this announcement on our end, but our lovely friends in the Engineering Office hooked us up with some gaming page upgrades last BFMS release (v3.7).

The Gaming page link (via Activities) will now take you to a page that summarizes gaming as an activity and provides a snapshot of upcoming Gaming Events. This is important as prospective members can see that we have an active gaming community before joining. It is also an excellent way for current members to see what is planned! All of the currently planned gaming events are posted there. This is a great way to see what is planned well in advance. While Discord remains a vital communication tool for gaming events, we do not usually post events there more than a couple of weeks ahead to avoid cluttering the Discord events function.

A neat trick as well — if you hover with your mouse above the date/UTC indicator on the event listing itself, it will show you when the event takes place in your own local time if that is set in your BFMS membership profile.

My thanks to Engineering for helping support this new feature!
