Hello Gamers,
The new year is starting off strong for gaming in Bravo Fleet. It’s truly exciting to see all the activity in the gaming-voice channels on Discord these days. The Security Office Staff have all been having a great time taking part in both Gaming Events and off-cycle gaming sessions with everyone.
Since January 1, 2025 – the Security Office has endorsed and completed 6 Gaming Events hosted by both members of the Security Office and general members in Bravo Fleet. We already have several more slated for the remainder of February. We will aim to keep that momentum up!
Thank you all for attending and supporting these events. They’re always a great time.
Policy Updates
Casual Gaming
Slight policy changes were made to the Casual Gaming section of the Gaming Policy. You will now note that there is an opportunity for a 3x multiplier for sessions with a larger participation number. Of course – the Security Office will keep a pulse on this from a policy perspective and may make adjustments depending on balancing needs downstream. For now, though – the more, the merrier!
Gaming Nights Events
You will now notice that both the Gaming Policy and communications of endorsed gaming sessions will be referred to as Gaming Events moving forward. It’s not always night time when we are hosting things for members, so we felt it was time to reflect that.
With this nomenclature change comes some updates to the Gaming Event policy language and guide.
For a gaming session to be considered an endorsed Gaming Event by the Security Office, the following criteria must be met:
-
-
Must be scheduled events, where a set date/time is organized in advance on Discord through the Events tab; and
-
The gaming date/time must be confirmed at least 5-days before the event to give members a fair enough heads up so they can plan to attend
-
The gaming event must aim to accommodate all attendees. For example: If it is a 4-player cooperative game, the host must have an overflow plan in place so members who want to partake are not left out. The host could have a delegate ready to run a second room and game as a means of mitigation
-
These changes have been made to level-set gaming opportunities for our members. It’s important to us that endorsed Gaming Events are accessible.
As always, any member of Bravo Fleet can arrange to host a Gaming Event as long as these criteria are met. Just refer to the guide and host away!
Gaming Competitions
The Security Office is excited to share with you that our first Gaming Ribbon Race of 2025 is live. It runs through February 4-18, 2025 and is an excellent opportunity to flex your gaming muscles and claim victory in the race!
We aim as a staff to offer more regular ribbon races throughout the year as well as some additional gaming competition opportunities. Stay tuned for those!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the information shared in this update, don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of the Security Office.
Thank you, and happy gaming!
