Hello Bravo Fleet folks!
Been a bit of wiki development going on lately and a few new folks getting into wiki editing, which is awesome to see! And if you’re not one of those awesome wiki editing folks and you want to be, it’s pretty simple! Just hit me up on Discord with a request and provide me the following three things:
- User name you’d like on the wiki
- Email address
- BFMS User ID number
Efforts to go back and backfill Bravo Fleet’s extensive history regarding Fleet Actions and Campaigns are continuing at pace. A few months back the article for The Lost Fleet was completed and just recently The Devil to Pay was also updated to give a summary of events.
Mission Summaries
Did you know the command articles on the wiki are meant for historical purposes? Tracking who was in command and when is just one piece of it. Summaries of past missions, for new readers and new commanders alike, is the real history we want to have on the wiki. Breakdowns of what happened during a given mission or event, even through in a few reference links to actual stories if you want!
In that light, I’d like to encourage people to go back and update their commands, or former commands, with past events. I’d really like to see folks wrap up updating their command pages around events during Labyrinth before the start of the next Fleet Action, so to help encourage that, I’m opening up two competitions to get things started!
Competitions
Which works as a way to introduce those Science Office competitions that are underway for the next two weeks.
These competitions are focused on providing historical content on the Bravo Fleet wiki, with a focus on events around the Labyrinth fleet action and around any other mission you’ve written.
I’m looking forward to seeing a multitude of entries! And as always, any questions about wiki editing, happy to help!
Command Page Maintenance
I’d also like to ask everyone to just give their own command and squadron pages on the wiki a quick look over as well. We want to make sure details in the infobox are correct, as well as the Commanding Officers sections.
- Is the Task Force and Task Group correct?
- Is the Squadron or Division correct?
- Is the Commanding and Executive Officer listed?
- Is the Commanding Officer listed correctly in the Commanding Officers section at the bottom?
- Does the command history dates link go to the correct BFMS command page?
- Are all instances of ship names italicised? What about ship class references as well?
I do dives through all the pages every few months, but if folks can look at their own pages and just check everything is all good, it really helps me out, especially if you’ve transferred between task forces in the last few months.
